Magnetic Setting

The name of our exhibition, “Magnetic Setting,” is inspired from the magnets we saw in the souvenir shops in Kuala Lumpur. When we see these magnets that have scenic pictures of the famous sites on them, it occurs to us that during our temporary stay at WOLO, we are like magnets, too. WOLO is like a ferromagnetic material to us; we are attracted here while understanding more about Kuala Lumpur. At the same time, our works are in progress simultaneously. Being a tourist, a visitor, we absorb the local scenes we see and embrace the culture. On the other hand, we, artists, transfer what we have seen and learned into our works. In limited time, we construct, ponder all the details of our work, and finally complete this exhibition. “Magnetic Setting” resonates the state of us: staying temporarily, being attracted to this place, and furthermore, displaying our

works of experience here.
