TAO ART 即將在9月26日至12月12日呈現群展《Stillness》，由具多重身份的獨立策展人 Jenny Lee（李晏禎）策劃，帶來四位女性藝術家⸺ 陳雲、温孟瑜、劉子瑜（Christina Liu）、李依耘（Lino Lee）的最新創作。在這次的展覽裡，除了有熟悉的繪畫創作外，也包含陶瓷地景雕塑，以及紙屋裝置，能看見藝術家如何藉由各自的藝術實踐，自我產生對話，打破現有的和諧，來抵禦快速變遷的外在世界，尋求新平衡的新課題。

策展人 Jenny Lee 有感於不預期的新冠肺炎，帶給我們前所未有的變化，像是距離衡量、遠近、疏離、親密的方式等，間接地突破了對於過往習性的依循。她在這四位女性藝術家的創作裡發現，她們都各自不斷地藉由記憶、拼貼、夢境、設計、重組、勞動透過媒材來實踐與處理她們在當下社會連結過去、而這些週而復始的創作旅程，似乎反應了自身對於生命追尋的解構性理想，也映照了當下世界摸不著邊際的變遷。

用筆觸展現的內在風景

陳雲和温孟瑜有著豐厚的藝術訓練，都畢業自國立台北藝術大學，從學生時代即展露頭角，是藝術界長期關注的藝術家，皆擅長用畫筆將細膩的情感，呈現屬於自己獨有的視覺敘事情境。像是陳雲細膩平整的畫面，將時間空間凍結在某個沒有過去，也沒有未來的時刻，彷彿說不完的故事，轉化為一種無法敘述完全的缺失或遺憾，含著堅強淡淡地瀰漫在作品的畫面中，畫面中暫時的寧靜感，提供一個可供安歇的落腳處；而温孟瑜則是用物件、窗帷、傢俱、植物拼貼設計出像是居家空間、也像渡假飯店，等無所指名的場景，工整的空間以及線條，獨特的視角，還有獨特的用色，虛實交疊，是一個屬於藝術家私密，但又無人跡，一種與觀者心神交會的神秘場域。

從材質出發的藝術之旅

無獨有偶，劉子瑜和李依耘來自多元的成長背景和跨文化的交融，皆由展現創意的生活方式，分別藉由陶瓷和紙這兩種實用的媒材，緩緩進入藝術的領域。成長於加州的劉子瑜，是「Christina Liu Cer amics」的創辦人，是許多星級餐廳採用的食器，曾念過商業經濟和法語，後來遠赴倫敦皇家藝術學院（Royal College of A rt）學習陶瓷藝術；李依耘廣為人知的身份則是「鳳嬌催化室」的品牌總監，許多創意人對紙的多元呈現手法，皆出自她的團隊。她成長於澳洲，生物學的背景曾以醫生作為生涯的發展，但毅然決然返台，延續家族三代對於「紙」的歷史傳承，為紙找尋創意的可能性。

這次的展覽對於劉子瑜和李依耘都是首次更趨近藝術性地呈現，劉子瑜將山景因雲霧環繞而陰影層層變化得來的意象，抽象地轉化在以陶瓷管狀高低排列搭配自然漸層的色暈的作品上，將觀看的瞬間捕捉下來，成為永恆的風景，在創作過程中的重複勞動，就像某種儀式，是她將外界的紛擾消化與內化的方式，；李依耘則是打造一個三維的獨立空間，提供觀者去探索虛與實之間，被遺忘的維度與有形之外的空間。在單色、安靜的空間中，觀者可以脫去煩囂、卸下武裝，在不被打擾的空間中，來場自我對話。

用最純粹方式 靜置為永恆

對 Jenny 來說，這四位，背景和成長不盡相同的女性藝術家在面對當下的挑戰與克服人生未知的旅途上，都在找尋一種整體的和諧。在做自己、追尋與實踐自己的過程當中淬鍊出面對世界與實現自己價值的自信。她表示：「尤其在這個特殊的時間點上，她們將自己的生命歷程用作品封裝起來，以最純粹的方式擷取保存在創作中的時間切片，捕捉當下靜置為永恆。」

秉持著 TAO AR T 的宗旨，創辦人 Vicky Chen（陳薇捷）不斷的尋找嶄新的可能性，希冀帶給超越傳統藝術空間的限制，讓不同形式的藝術和創意都能在空間成形。這次特地邀請 Jenny 來策劃展覽，就是希望能藉由策展人多重身份的轉變和轉換，為藝術找尋更多悸動的連結。像是Jenny 目前擔任 Art Basel（瑞士巴塞爾藝術展會）的台灣貴賓代表，為藝術家、收藏家、畫廊製造與藝術的關係，就如同梳理藝術家，找尋有意義的呈現和連結。

TAO ART will soon present group exhibition “Stillness” from September 26 to December 12. The exhibition is curated by the multi-talented independent curator Jenny Lee and features the latest works by four female artists—Chen Yun, Wen Meng-Yu, Christina Liu, and Lino Lee. In addition to the more commonly seen paintings, this exhibition also includes ceramic landscape sculptures and a paper installation. Visitors will be able to see how the artist pursue of a new balance by developing a dialogue between self and their inner sense through their respective artistic practices and breaking the existing harmony to adapt resist the rapidly changing external world.

Curator Jenny Lee reflects on the unexpected outbreak of COVID-19, which has brought people unprecedented changes and affected our sense of how we measure distance and relationship. People no longer rely on the past ways of life and have indirectly broken away from old habits and reconsidered a new attitude toward life. In the works of these four female artists, they utilize various mediums to process their personal declaration in the pursuit of connection with the past while facing the future and searching balance in the present society.

Inner Landscapes Displayed through Brushstrokes

Chen Yun and Wen Meng-Yu both have had extensive training in art. They both graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts and showed great promises as students. They have also been recognized in the art scene as they are both artists adept at presenting their own scenarios of unique visual narratives by capturing delicate emotions through the paintbrush. Chen Yun’s delicate and smooth paintings seem to freeze time at a certain moment without past nor future, like a never-ending story, which is converted into an indescribable sense of loss or regret that firmly yet faintly fills the works. e temporary tranquility in the paintings offers a resting spot; Wen Meng-Yu uses collages of objects, curtain, furniture, and plants, to design a living space that also resembles a resort hotel, or a familiar yet unknown scene. The neat space and lines, unique perspective, and deliberately created overlapping of real and virtual elements construct the artist’s private yet empty space that is a meeting point of the minds and spirits of the artist and viewers.

Journey of Art that Begins from Materials

Coincidentally, both Christina Liu and Lino Lee come from diverse backgrounds with intercultural experiences. Through lifestyles that showcase creativity, they have both slowly ventured into the world of art using two practical materials, ceramic and paper. Christina Liu grew up in California, and is the founder of “Christina Liu Ceramics,” producing tableware for many Michelin-starred restaurants. She studied Business Economics, and French, and later went to Royal College of Art to study ceramic art; Lino Lee the brand director of “Fenko Catalysis Chamber,” and her team is the creative mastermind behind many diverse presentations of paper. She grew up in Australia. She has a background in biochemistry and anatomy. However, she resolutely decided to return to Taiwan to answer her calling of carrying on the family legacy on “paper” and take on the challenge of exploring possibilities of greater diversity for the medium.

To Christina Liu and Lino Lee, this exhibition is their rst ne-art oriented exhibition. Christina Liu abstractly converts the imagery of changing shadows of mountain landscapes, resulted from layered in clouds and mist, into ceramic tubes of different heights with natural color gradients, capturing a certain instant in the process of viewing and turning it into eternal scenery. The repeated labor in the creative process resembles a certain ritual through which she digests and internalizes the disturbances of the outer world. Lino Lee creates a three-dimensional independent space, allowing viewers to explore the forgotten dimension and space beyond tangibility between the virtual and the real. In the monochromic and quiet space, viewers can strip away noises and let their guards down, to converse with self in an undisturbed space.

Distilling into Eternity through the Purest Way

To Jenny, these four female artists look for an overall harmony as they face current challenges and overcome uncertainties in the journey of life. A confidence in facing the world and realizing one’s own value is rened through their creative practices. “At this special point in time, they package and seal their life journeys in their works, and extract and preserve through the purest ways a section of time in their creations, capturing the present and distilling it into eternity,” said Jenny.

Adhering to the philosophy of TAO ART, Founder Vicky Chen constantly searches for new possibilities, hoping to transcend the limitations of traditional art space, and enable different forms of art and creativity to take shape in the space. is time around, Vicky invites Jenny to curate the exhibition, and hopes to discover art from a more diverse perspective through the curator’s multiple identities. Jenny is now Art Basel’s VIP representative of Taiwan, building relationships for artists, collectors, and galleries. And this time, she is combing through

artists to find meaningful presentations and connections.
